Uncertainty-Aware Resource Provisioning for Network Slicing

Network slicing allows Mobile Operators to split the physical infrastructure into isolated virtual networks (slices), managed by Service Providers accommodate customized services. The Function Chains (SFCs) belonging a slice are usually deployed on best-effort premise: nothing guarantees that network resources will be sufficient support varying number of users, each with uncertain requirements. Taking perspective Infrastructure Provider (InP), this article proposes resource provisioning approach for slices, robust partly unknown users random usage resources. scheme aims maximize total earnings InP, while providing probabilistic guarantee amount provisioned meet Moreover, proposed is performed so as limit its impact low-priority background services, which may co-exist slices in network. all these constraints account leads an integer programming problem many nonlinear constraints.
